Project Details

The job involved Construction of 373 m of road and 330 m of rock revetment consisting of rocks from 10 kg – 7.5 tonnes.

This project was funded by USAID as part of the Western Main Road Upgrade.

Trinidad Contractors Limited mobilized on site and started extraction of rocks from two quarry sites using D8 Bulldozers to extract, sort and stock-pile rocks, which were loaded onto trucks by excavators and transported to the site that was located one (1) mile from the quarries.

Whilst work was being carried out at the quarries, a concrete crew worked at our Trinidad base pre-casting concrete elements to be used on the new seawall. The pre-cast elements were shipped to Grenada on our Barge S222, which was towed by our tug ‘Comanche Arrow’ and installed into position; the intermediate and upper portion of the wall were cast insitu.
