Scope of Works
This project included the construction of a 25 metre span bridge at Plymouth over the Courland River and a reinforced concrete Box Culvert at Studley Park. This required 9 No. 22 tonnes Precast Prestressed 25 metres long AASHTO Type III beams.
It commenced with the construction of a temporary bridge and demolition of the old steel truss bridge and its foundation.
It was decided by TCL senior personnel to Design and Build in-house the formwork for the AASHTO III beam casting, together with a portable elemental frame capable of withstanding 450 tonnes compression load to accommodate safely the stressing of 28 No. half inch strands to 31,000 pounds load to facilitate the construction of the beams on site.
